Book Porn From Spain
Emailed from a fan in Spain: sweet, sweet pornography for those who read, write, and love books. Look at the sweet young thang perched there on that shelf. Firm. Dark. Intelligent. Mmmmm. No word yet on where exactly in Spain this store is located. More soon.

Deep Thoughts With Jeff
So it's been nuts. Researching. Outlining. A homeowners' meeting. Family stuff. I have been neglectful of this blog again, but here's a fun little video we made while recording my introduction for Starship Sofa's awesome, awesome podcast of "Long Eyes." Maybe the camera was too close. We were trying different angles. Won't happen again.

Trick Question
This is a joke from a friend in a fictional language. For the prize of finding your name in an upcoming story, maybe the new piece for Asimov's, who can tell me what this simple statement reminds me of?It gets trickier. The simple statement isn't wholly accurate to what it reminds me of... and how the heck are you supposed to know what I'm thinking?
I dunno. Good luck! :)

Recommended Reading
Last week I had the pleasure of reading Marsbound by perennial Nebula- and Hugo-winner Joe Haldeman, whom I consider one of my major stylistic influences Joe's writing is deft and evocative. This guy can accomplish in one line what many writers need several paragraphs to express. Marsbound isn't one of his larger books, but it was great sci-fi fun. It's been compared to a modern-day Podkayne of Mars, which I think is accurate, and of course there's plenty of sex and violence. And strange aliens. Danger. Politics. Family. Friendships at risk. Joe's done it again. Two thumbs up.

So I've Been Busy...
Hard to believe it's mid-May already. I meant to post this last week, at last -- the intro I recorded for Dunesteef's podcast of my short story "Enter Sandman." Busy busy busy. The new book is afoot! Well, actually it's a computer file, but I'm moving on it again. Ha ha. How are you?

Sneak Peek of PLAGUE ZONE
It's a photo of a print-out of the map rather than the file itself because these files are massive hi-res Adobe Workshop files that my blog doesn't recognize. Pesky artists! ;P
