Catching Up

This week I was hoping to bang out my world-changing blog about juggling multiple projects versus focusing only on one, but, well, I've been so focused on one project, there wasn't time for anything else!

I've been away. Imagine a business trip to a parallel future. Mind Plague. It's rather dark there and the body count is steep, but the people are interesting as hell, wounded and tough and smart and active. I am really having a good time with these characters and in a lot of ways I'll be sorry to move on when the book is a wrap and it's time to start and/or resume other projects.

More on that soon. I promise. How was the rest of your week?

Yay for being busy at work on Mind Plague! (No, I'm not excited. Not at all. What makes you think that?) :)

As for me, it was an okay week. I had an accounting test, which I'm afraid I bombed. I actually have work to do at my nine-to-five dayjob, which is nice. There's a light at the end of the tunnel about how much more time I have to spend in a dentist's chair -- I broke a tooth round about a month ago and root canals suck! Starting to get a little nervous about November, as I don't seem to have an idea, and I do much better when I generally have one.

(November is NaNoWriMo, or writing 50k words in one month alongside all your other commitments. I find it a useful exercise in writing a draft of something and letting it be what it is while the draft is being written. You do this for a living.) ;)

Other than that, it was a week. Not overly exciting, but mostly the same old grind.

Dudette, sorry about the test if indeed you wrecked it! And, yeah, heavy duty dental work also sounds *most* enjoyable.

Let me know the results of your NaNo madness. That's nuts!!!

Hey, like the idea of Mind Plague. Getting into some interesting areas. You are giving me lots of future reads. I am enjoying watching your success.

Hi, Sherry! Thank you. Yes, I think you're going to find Mind Plague to be a wild ride indeed... I just surprised myself last week when a scene went sideways. Those pesky characters!!! ;)

Nothing personal, Jeff, but I don't think I would actually want to visit the PLAGUE world. Something about being eaten from the inside out by microscopic machinery makes me leary. Unless I could borrow the Master Chief's armor from HALO, I think I'd pass.

My week? I had to drop $750 on a new computer because my jalopy finally croaked. However, our co-ed softball team at work took second in the season end tournament.
