Language Lessons

In fact, I'm going to go so far as to say that I think this is the strongest cover I've ever had. Sure, I've only published two books so far, but with foreign editions, this makes five covers. And this one rocks! I love the color scheme and the artwork. There's a nice mainstream thriller feel to it.
In other exciting news, my Romanian editor says he's going to give the second book its original title, War Day. That's Ziua Razboiului to you, of course. ;)
Anul Molimei is slated for March 2009.
Labels: Anul Molimei, Millennium Press, PLAGUE YEAR, Romanian edition
Also, it rocks that he's using your original title for Plague War. I'd always thought it kinda bogus that you couldn't use that title here, but at least you get to use it somewhere.
Woo! Go Jeff!

Have there been any discussions with publishers in Asia?
Bob, there has more interest in other countries here and there, but I won't be more detailed about those nibbles until they're for real and in the bag... I do wonder if I've written myself right out of the Chinese market by making them the bad guys? It wasn't personal! I just needed a plausible force to wear the black hats, you know?
I was actually wondering if you would have a market in either China or Russia for the same reason. Plus you've got the Chinese government that will probably have something to say, too.
But you've still got a lot of potential readers in Japan and Korea, Republic of. Hopefully we'll see some book porn of those covers soon.
I do hope the Russians will jump on the first book, at least. They're still the good guys in Plague Year, if sort of getting their asses kicked. But so is everyone else who doesn't own enough mountainous territory. That's just the story, right?
