What A Disappointment !
So I opened the files. This is the best photo. Honestly. Why bother? I think I would have preferred the artful arrangement alongside a nice hot fresh doggie dump. With a better written email. If you want to be snarky-mean, don’t be snarky-dumb, people. That’s the lesson we’ve all learned today.The most fun I had with this was that I shared the email on SFF.net and was roundly congratulated for earning my first hate mail by many, many pros. Thanks guys! I want especially to tip my hat to Allen Steele and Lou Anders for always being in my corner. ;)

Katie the Dog is lovely, but merely doing what a dog does. And dogs do much worse. "Much, much worse," she reflects - and shudders. Yes, it's a bit of a let down, but your career is only starting. I'm sure your unfans will do better in the future.

If it's any consolation, Bubba the cat rubs his face on your books when I read them. He finds them very comforting.

I would print the letter on nice paper -- including the photo -- and frame it! That your work could incite this person to go to so much effort to take photos and email you is a great sign! Or a strange sign - like one you see in a foreign country and doesn't make sense yet seems to be sort of funny though you suspect it isn’t supposed to be -- that kind of sign.
